The objective of this project was to showcase a single typeface and usage of grid systems with type and imagery relating to the foundation of the typeface. Müller-Brockmann’s mathematical spatial division used in his posters was what inspired this poster layout. The use of coral pink and subtle noise texture compliments the spirit of Bodoni and Didone whose romantic undertones inspired the typeface’s design. The background imagery represents the origins of Chinese type through calligraphic brush strokes. The two characters within ming(明) which translates to sun(日) and moon(月) were reflected through contrasting serif and sans-serif typefaces. The featured typeface is Ming Romantic designed by Caspar Lam and YuJune Park under Synoptic Office.
